Education
Challenges
The aim of “Education for All” isn’t just a noble quest driven by principles of social justice and human rights; it’s also a vital strategic urgency for a nation’s overall development, economic prosperity.
Despite commendable efforts by the government and public-private partnerships to advance education, there remains a pressing issue at hand – the stark disparities faced by marginalized children, particularly those hailing from working, street, or disaster-affected backgrounds.
Our impact
Educating, Empowering, Transforming Lives: Our Impact in Every Child's Journey
From marginalized communities to disaster-affected youth, our Accelerated Education initiative is a beacon of hope, fostering literacy, life skills, and emotional support, breaking the chains of poverty and homelessness.
Accelerated Education
The society's 'Accelerated Education (AE)' initiative has made a profound impact on marginalized children, including those facing unique challenges such as working, living on the streets, or being affected by disasters. This innovative program incorporates sports, arts, storytelling, role plays, songs and digital techniques tailored to each child's background, has successfully addressed educational disparities stemming from cultural differences, poverty, and digital limitations.
Literacy Advancement in Indigenous communities
The AE initiative has reached 26 remote Indigenous Peoples and Dalit villages, leading to a notable increase in literacy rates. Children who previously lacked access to quality education have now acquired essential reading and writing skills.
Support for Street Children
More than 3,000 street children have benefited from AE while residing in the society's transit home. This program provides a lifeline to these vulnerable children, offering them not only education but also essential life skills and a chance to break free from the cycle of poverty and homelessness.
Tsunami Children
Following the South Asian Tsunami, 2,004 affected children accessed AE, effectively bridging the educational gap caused by the disaster. Beyond academics, AE provided emotional support during a traumatic period, helping these children rebuild their lives and regain a sense of normalcy.
Subsequent Plan
At the core of our educational strategy, we want to work intensively with spectrum of Indigenous, street-dwelling, disaster-affected, working children.
